Have you tried Bikram Yoga? A Quick Review of a great workout.

A few years Back I used to take Bikram Yoga. Now time restraints keep me from going but I do miss it. It is one of the best classes I have ever taken. Working in the fitness world for almost two decades I have taken my fair share of classes. From aerobics to kickboxing to pilates to all other sorts of sports conditionings and more. They are very hit and miss. I found that usually it was the instructor that made the class. If the instructor was talented they could usually pull off  decent class. However, if you got a rookie or a sub who really was not very confident or capable, it was a big waste of time.

This is what I loved about Bikram Yoga. It did not matter who led the class, it was also the same great challenge that made me feel amazing each time I went. The reason for this was that it was always the same 26 exercises or poses. Typically you do all 26 poses for a 60 seconds each, then you go back through a second time holding each for 30 seconds. I have heard some instructors do 45 seconds splits as well. As you can see the moves are quite difficult (at least they are for me!). What I love is the instructors ability to give individuals of different levels and abilities some alternate forms of each move that are a little more appropriate.

The other part of this class that i loved was the temperature. If you have never taken one, they crank the heat up in the room to around 105 degrees. I love the sensation afterwards, you feel so light and energized and I love the feeling that I have rid my body of so many toxins through the sweat.

If you have tried Yoga and found that you did not enjoy it due to its slow nature, this will be a class for you to try. It is the most intense yoga I have ever tried and like I have said, you feel amazing afterward.

I did not review this like I have the other products but here is my overall score of Bikram Yoga

9/10!

yoga clubs are popular at my college. many friends of mine are joining yoga clubs that meet two or three times a week. i think its the same or similar to the ‘bikram’ yoga, everyone calls it ‘hot’ yoga. most of these students dont compete in sports and may not have in high school.

    GO RAIDERS!!!
