How can you make your Cardiovascular Workouts More Efficient?

We are in the final stages of building our Cardio Cheat Sheets for you. Just like anything else Train2move builds, these are designed to take your normal cardio workouts to another level by increasing the efficiency of your muscular system during the workout. We have covered the benefits of a proper warmup many times. Also in these posts there has been the explanation of how your muscular system is always in a state of change based on what you are physically asking your body to do.

If you spend your day seated at a desk, your muscular system will be tight. If you spend your day standing, your muscular system will have areas of fatigue that can drastically change your posture for the worse. No matter what your job, you are going to develop imbalances during the day that if not addressed prior to a workout, will have a very negative impact on your ability to perform your cardio routine effectively.

dscn0311Running is an example I like to use when discussing this topic since it is something that 99% of us do with various amounts of inefficiency. We all have muscular imbalances that create crazy looking strides. We all have the same muscles in our body so would it not make sense that we would all look the same as we ran? I understand some of us are tall, some short etc but we are created with the same muscles in our body. Excluding birth defects, we all have the same 600 plus muscles that help to move and support our body.

What causes us to all move in different ways? This can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. For me all the fancy terminology that a lot of trainers like to use is just them trying to comprehend something that is so simple it frustrates them. Again, we are a living adaptive organism that constantly changes based on the environment we put it in. If you sit all day, your muscles will become good at sitting. If you constantly take your joints through their full range of motion through an intelligent way of training, you will have limited to no pain and you will be able to do the activities you love for hours at a time with little to no negative side effects.

Most trainers like to think it is more complicated than this and that they have the perfect exercise to accomplish everything. This is the best exercise for runners, this is the best exercise to get bigger biceps etc. There is no best exercise, all exercises are the best exercise. Knowing how and why to use all of them is the key.

To make your cardio workouts as efficient as possible, make sure you are integrating different ranges of motion to your hips and shoulders, warmup by giving stimulus to the muscles responsible for creating a proper gait pattern. Most of all, change your activity frequently.

Use our cardio cheat sheets as a quick guide to help you accomplish as much efficiency as possible. We will have a full set out for you soon!
