If you could only do one exercise for the rest of your life what would you choose?

I always like discussing topics like this. You get to see many different perspectives on what people think is the most valuable components of exercises. If you really only could choose one exercise for the rest of your life what would it be? Let me clarify this. Assume you can still do recreational activities, walking, jogging skiing etc. I want to know what would be the move you would choose to train the ability  to perform the recreational activities.

You would want a move that incorporates as many components of fitness as possible. This means a move that covers strength, balance, flexibility, power, coordinated movement, promotes efficiency of movement, and other components I am not thinking of right now.

img_0313There are several favorites that I have, Cats and DogsRoller Coasters, Lunges to name a few. However, if I was really forced to just choose one it wold have to be the Bear Crawl.

This is a move that incorporates many if not all of the components we discussed earlier. I wish it was capable of giving some hip extension instead of predominantly just flexion. Let me know if you have a better move in mind. I was close to going with the Roller Coaster but the lack of movement made me decide against it.

What is your #1 move?

My favorite would be Downward Dog Squats. Perfect after a tennis match, a round of golf, or a day of standing around watching other people exercise.
