An Update on the Presidents Challenge and some Tips

Awhile back we had a post regarding this years Presidential Fitness Challenge. My Son signed up and is absolutely loving it! He looks forward to adding up his points each day as he works towards his goals. As of Today He has about 16,300 points. He is getting excited since the first award he can get is the Bronze which is at 20,000 points. He has been to the site each day to record his progress, get some comparisons to others who are participating in the challenge and to look around at other links on the site.

I found a link the other day looking around that I liked. I am usually a fan of the simple when it comes to lists and quick tip pages. They can be an easy reminder as to how things can be done to help you be successful despite your reasons as to why you feel you cant.

On this page it was the Ten Ideas to Get Active list. They split it up into 2 different groups, adults and kids. Here are the top ten for each  you can check out. Also follow the link above to get directly to the site.

Adults

  1. Use a push mower to mow the lawn
  2. Go for a walk in a nearby parkpc_logo
  3. Take the stairs instead of an elevator
  4. Bike to work, to run errands, or visit friends
  5. Clean out the garage or the attic
  6. Walk with a friend over the lunch hour
  7. Volunteer to become a coach or referee
  8. Sign up for a group exercise class
  9. Join a softball league
  10. Park at the farthest end of the lot

Kids

  1. Take your dog out for a walk
  2. Start up a playground kickball game
  3. Join a sports team
  4. Go to the park with a friend
  5. Help your parents with yardwork
  6. Play tag with kids in your neighborhood
  7. Ride your bike to school
  8. Walk to the store for your mom
  9. See how many jumping jacks you can do
  10. Race a friend to the end of the block

I have really enjoyed the success that this program has been for my son. If you have kids and are looking for some tools to get them active I really recommend this program. I have to be honest I thought it was going to be a little bit lame but it has proven me wrong. My son is already talking about going for the Presidential Champions Program Next Year.

I will keep you updated once my son gets the Gold Medal! I will give a total review of the program once it is completed on July 24th.

What Others Are Saying

"My body has not reacted well with working a desk job.  I am only 25, but have been having a lot of pain that has built up over the past 6 months...The cubicle workouts have truly helped, I cant even begin to tell you...so much better! Thanks Scott, love the routines!" Brandon
