Some Fun Nutritional Info and Downloads

I have run camps for a long time and I always like to give out some nutritional information at each of them. One spot that has always worked good for some quick, fun,  information is the Oregon Dairy Council. We have our big Trinity Sports Summer Camp coming up on Monday and I once again went to their site for some tips to hand out to the athletes. They have a section on the front page for Free Downloads that has some easy, quick information for you to use.

Here are some examples of the great free items you can get. The first I checked out was a quick reference guide that shows the nutritional information of several common drink choices kids make. It shows milk, soda, water, sports drinks and makes it real easy to see the difference in the various nutritional contents of each.

Next I saw a poster you could download and put on your refrigerator to help kids with packing their lunches and understanding what are good choices to make when putting a lunch together. I actually printed on of these for my 5 year old and let her and her friends in their preschool use it when they are playing with their kitchen set. It helps them to learn how to make a healthy lunch while they are doing their normal play activities.

Another one I really liked was this sheet about the food pyramid that shows you how much of the various food groups you need each day but more importantly, it gives examples of how much of each food that really is.

There is also quite a bit of information on their for younger kids (ages 3-5). I recommend anyone go check it out for a few minutes and see if there are some tool you can download that can assist you with making the best decisions possible when it comes to your nutritional and that of your kids.

"My body has not reacted well with working a desk job.  I am only 25, but have been having a lot of pain that has built up over the past 6 months...The cubicle workouts have truly helped, I cant even begin to tell you...so much better! Thanks Scott, love the routines!" Brandon
