Trinity Sports Summer Camp 2009 Wrap-up Part #1
- 1 Comment
We just completed our 4th annual training camp and it was a huge success. Over 80 athletes worked over 70 hours to take their bodies to a completely different level of speed, power, and durability. We wanted to share some photos with you that will give you an idea of some of the fun they had. You can look through the entire album we put together from the camp on the Trinity website.
To train a complete athlete takes more than many are willing to give but these individuals were willing to go that extra to completely change their athletic ability. Every element of athleticism was utilized in this camp in an intelligent progressive manner that enables each person the chance to maximize their results by training at the level their body needed to succeed.
They spent hours each day in the weight room building their raw strength. True weight room power is attained not by breaking the body up into sections but rather always training it as a unit in our opinion. Supply overload stimulus to the entire muscular system every time you are going to lift weight, then integrate that strength into the proper movement of the body.
At the end of the camp the athletes had a chance to show off all they had accomplished in some competitions we put together. The first of these tests we would like to highlight is the Strength Competition. Here the athletes had to do as many Chin-ups as they could in 2 minutes, then as many roller coasters as they could in 2 minutes, and finally they did 5 handstands for an accumulative time. The Girls replaced the chin-ups with a flexed arm hang and the roller coasters with push-ups. Congratulations to our Boys and Girls Strength Competition Champions from this years camp.
