Trinity Sports Summer Camp 2009 Wrap-up Part #3

The Final Component we wanted to show you was the Power Circuit competition. We made a video to highlight the camp and thought you might enjoy seeing a few clips of what the camp looked like. Also at the end is our male and female Power Circuit Champions. Power for us at Train2move comes from your ability to control your body. To have total control with explosion means placing your body into various situations that force it to recruit all of the components of athleticism (speed, strength, flexibility, agility, etc) in the same moment to create explosive power.
Many people feel this is gained in the weight room doing the traditional power lifting moves like Power Cleans and Dead Lifts and Snatch and so on. While we agree these can create a muscular system capable of creating higher levels of force, it does not completely translate into the athletic arena. Athletes need to be able to move in every direction and generate power from hundreds of complex positions. The traditional power lifting simply does not cover all of these positions leaving gaps in an athletes power. These gaps not only limit performance but can also be partially responsible for injury in our opinion.
This style of training you will see our 2 champions do coupled with appropriate weight training gives you the best of both worlds and we feel creates a much more explosive and extremely more durable athlete.
Enjoy the Show!

You can see why I love my job. It is so exciting watching these athletes put in the effort and then to see the results is very rewarding. I am very thankful for the opportunities I have had in order to share this training knowledge with them and now thanks to this blog, with you!

I have always been interested to see what a professional athlete would do on a course like this… putting reggie bush or lebron james on the power circuit would be interesting to watch. I would have to say reggie bush would get through the fastest out of any athlete out there. Anyone disagree?
