Wrestling is very intense. It takes a certain mentality to become a good wrestler, one I simply do not possess.

SUMMER! The hotter the better. I love running the dead heat of the day in the middle of the summer. haha I think I get this desire from all of my years of training for wrestling and all of the days and nights spent in a small over heated room sweating my eyes out.

I don't agree with much of the training philosophy from my youth years in wrestling, but some of it has grown on me. So, whenever the temp hits around 85 or higher, you can be guaranteed that I will be out running.

Summer is my favorite time to run. I used to be a sprinter at a small college in southern California, and I must say that even though it could easily be in the upper 70's to 80's in January, I loved the hot weather. Running in warm-ups to me is uncomfortable, and simply being out in the cold just isn't very much fun for working out. I love doing a hard workout in the heat, then jumping in the pool to cool off.

I would have to say late summer and early spring also. The temp seems just about right and something about the angle of the sun during that time of year makes the environment look extra beautiful. Although I would have to say that running in the middle of July and August is a great challenge due to the heat. I enjoy knowing I am pushing my running limits. Of course I stay well hydrated and make sure I warmup and cool down correctly.
