Top 5 Lower back Exercises of all Time

I recently took a car ride to Great Wolfe Lodge in Washington and we hit some serious traffic as we drove through Portland, OR. What should have been a short 90 minute trip turned into a 3 hour crawl on Interstate 5 North. As I sat there I noticed how tight my lower back continued to get. I have never been a fan of sitting for long periods and neither has my back. Because of this car rides have not typically been my favorite.

Top 5 Best Stretching Exercises of all Time

We have not done one of these in awhile so I thought I would get your opinion on what the best stretching exercises of all time are. The list to chose from is enormous so narrowing it down will most likely come down to simply personal favorites. I am going to try and stay as unbiased as I can and just choose those that I feel will be the most beneficial to the body. This is not going to be easy but should provide for some good conversation if nothing else.

What are the Top 5 Advancements in Fitness History?

I had a conversation recently with someone in the fitness world and we had a good laugh about how many fads we could name that had come and gone. It was a great trip down infomercial memory lane. The fitness industry to me has become just like anything else, dependent on the latest and greatest trend to stay alive. Each new fad that comes along is guaranteed to be the next thing your body needs to reach a totally new level of fitness and health.

Top 5 Coolest Places you have Ever Worked out at.

Someday I hope to travel quite a bit and no not when I retire, before that time comes. I always thought it would be cool to workout at various spots. Maybe a little 5k through the amazon, or how about a cardio circuit in the AMerican Gladiators arena, or some handstands on the moon! I will make all those happen one day, you'll see. For now back in the reality what are some of the most interesting places you have ever done a workout.

Top 5 things that drive you crazy at the gym

This could provide some good entertainment.. Everyone has some things that really get on their nerves when it comes to working out at Health clubs. Mine have changed a lot since i have been out of the typical gym world for awhile. I can honestly say I do not miss it at all. THe chance to be working one on one with clients in a smaller more intimate setting not only makes for better results, I am able to eliminate  many of the things that used to drive me insane.

Who are the Top 5 Best Athletes of all time?

This should be a great debate. Everyone has their own favorites form their own generations. To make this a little more streamlined lets look at everyone as an athlete. This means who has the best combination of all the components of athleticism. I would argue that my childhood hero John Elway is the best football player of all time but he was clearly not the best athlete.

Physical Education, What were your top 5 games?

badmintonFor another fun Top 5, lets decide on the top five P.E. Games of all time. Physical Education was without a doubt my favorite subject for my entire education career. Even in College I took a badminton class that I loved. It was a little embarrassing really since was the only person who took the class seriously. The structure of the class was to spend the majority of the year working on the finer components of the game like serving, overhead shots, backhands, spikes and other tricks as well. Then for the last month we would play and ultimately end the semester with a bracketed playoff where the winner got a chance to play the instructor.

Top 5 Lower Body Exercises of all Time

We have yet to do lower body moves in our top 5 so I thought it would be good to get another debate started. For this one I am going to leave it wide open. Just your top 5 based on the factors that it is more strength oriented and not just a stretching move. Weights or no weights, you decide for your top 5. This proved to be really hard! The 5 I went with I feel are a good mix of moves but I had a list of about 15-20 that I thought deserved to be recognized in this.

I am just doing a quick post today but I thought it was a fun one. My students and I were discussing a workouts that we had seen and we got on the topic of fitness in movies. We started to list off a bunch and I new we had a great top 5 list on our hands.

Top 5 Upper Body Exercises of all time

So now we will get a little more specific with the top 5. Next lets go over what you think the top 5 Upper body exercises are. To quantify them as a top 5 means you feel they give you the most overall benefit to the muscular system. Obviously this entire blog is based around helping everyone learn the tools that can increase your overall muscular efficiency. So which moves are the most beneficial for building strength, increasing range of motion in the joints, and have the fewest amount of negative side effects to them.
